Today’s complex problems require new approaches, approaches rooted in collaboration and respect for different ways of studying the world. These approaches enable sharing knowledge through engaging and experiential education that bolsters personal growth and informs career paths. As a social-ecological scientist, program director, and educator with 15+ years of international experience, I seek to connect people with one another and to connect people with the natural world that supports sustainable and adaptive livelihoods.

Study.

My research lives at the intersection of humans & environment, producing lasting change in society and the environment upon which humans depend. Foci include livelihood resilience, innovative agriculture, humanitarian efforts, ecotourism, and equity of access in public lands.

Publications & Conferences

Collaborate.

My professional endeavors are rooted in collaboration: across disciplines, across organizations, & across cultures. I bring together people and teams through federal & non-profit program operations, research endeavors, and education curriculum development.

Collaborations

Inspire.

My cross-cultural research and collaboration bring engaging lived experience to the classroom (and beyond). I earn the attention of students through interactive instruction and classroom dialogue. I produce curriculums that connect foundational concepts to real world applications, preemptively answering questions of “why care?” I excel in guiding student from self-recognition of inherent interests to approachable steps to mold career path trajectories.

Continuous learning through life.

We are more than our jobs. In all aspects of life I learn more about others and the world. These lessons continuously add to my teaching and program direction.
